Health Spotlight

  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed every October, is a global campaign that promotes early screening, prevention, and awareness of a disease that affects 2.3 million women worldwide.

  • World AIDS Day reminds us to stay committed to preventing new HIV infections and ensuring essential services for people living with HIV worldwide.

  •  National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) is a day to acknowledge how HIV disproportionately affects Black people. Black communities have made great progress in reducing HIV. Yet racism, discrimination, and mistrust in the healthcare system may affect whether Black people seek or receive HIV prevention services.
